‘Where is Nancy?’ – Attacker was looking for Pelosi when he hit her husband with hammer

An intruder who broke into the home of Nancy Pelosi and her husband was searching for the US House Speaker.

The attacker was shouting: “Where is Nancy? Where is Nancy?” after breaking into the couple’s San Francisco home, NBC News reports.

Mr Pelosi, 82, was then attacked with a hammer.

He was taken to hospital, where he is “receiving excellent medical care and is expected to make a full recovery”, according to spokesman Drew Hammill.

Mrs Pelosi, the Democratic speaker of the US House of Representatives, and second-in-line to the presidency, was in Washington DC at the time, having recently returned from a security summit in Europe.
